Dri
& Shine Auto have combined forces with Dream
Machines and Clean Freakz to produce
Australia's first cleaning & detailing training clinics
for the car enthusiast with a hands on approach on how to
properly clean and detail a vehicle and how to do so with
our current times of water restrictions and environmental
constraints. Although we operate individual detailing businesses,
we share the same mind frame in the way we go about maintaining
our vehicles. These include:
- We believe regular
applications of sealants & polishes is essential in
maintaining a constant high level of finish of the exterior
of a vehicle this includes: the paint work, plastics, chrome,
mouldings and wheels. The same goes for the the interior
of a vehicle: the leather, vinyl, plastics and fabric also
require regular applications of protection to maintain factory
condition or in some cases even better.
- We believe cutting the paint
is necessary when vehicles have been un cared for and therefore
develop imperfections such as paint oxidation, scratches
and swirl marks. However where cutting the paint can be
avoided, we believe it should be and as an alternative we
use polishes that fill in and mask minor imperfections.
Remember there is only a small amount of clear coat available
on modern day cars and therefore its best to cut the paint
only when it is necessary.
- We continually Research
products across the globe and where necessary Develop our
own products that achieve better results without using harmful
chemicals and that are environmentally safe.
- We believe its necessary
to try and change the detailing industry norm on how to
maintain the condition of paint. At present a lot of enthusiasts
and detailers believe a regular cut & polish is the
way to go about maintaining the paint work of a vehicle.
The problem with this is that it is unnecessary to cut paint
on a regular basis. There are products on the market (called
paint sealants) that keep the paint work protected over
a long period of time compared to a polish. So what we should
be doing is using these sealants and with regular washing
(without the use of chemicals but with pH Neutral balanced
products) we can prevent damage to the paint work and eliminate
the need to cut the paint every 3 - 6 months. As mentioned
before there is only very little clear coat in paint work
that can be taken off before one cuts too far and it then
a respray is required.
The clinics will commence in
August, with the hope that the weather will be nice and it
will be an ideal time for enthusiasts to prepare the presentation
of their vehicles ready for the summer weather and the regular
cruises that occur around this time of the year.
Auto Care Maintenance
Training Clinic details:
- The purpose of the clinic
is to explain and show how to correctly clean and apply
basic detailing and maintenance steps, without damaging
their vehicles and with the support of an instructor to
ensure that you learn how to correctly apply it to your
own vehicle.
- Its a hands on course which
provides a real experience, rather than reading a book or
watching a video.
- It also gives car owners
a chance to sample a variety of products and see which work
best on their vehicle. All the products and materials used
in the clinic are included free of charge. This prevents
car owners from going to an auto product shop and buying
the wrong or poor quality products that they were all told
that it would do something that it just didn't!! Why
waste hundred of dollars paying to trial products when you
can do it for free!!
- The clinics will go for half
a day (approx. 4 hours) and include a free BBQ lunch and
drinks.
- The clinic course structure
will be:
- Short Video & Explanation
which discusses: understanding of paints modern and
past, cleaning products and their constituents, cleaning
methods, polishes/waxes/sealants explained,
- Demonstration of cleaning
vehicles in a water wise and legally acceptable method.
All parts of the vehicle including the paint work, windows,
plastic & rubber mouldings, chrome, wheels and tyres.
- Clay Bar application
- Paint Cleanser application
- Polishes/Waxes/Sealant
application
- Quick Detail Spray application
