How do I clean my dash and cabin linings?
Shut the doors, Hold spray bottle near your chest and spray a fine mist forward from your chest. Wipe over with damp chamois. Small sparse droplets over the dash are sufficient. Optionally, you can now treat the cleaned surface with a non sticky vinyl treatment like ours. Unlike other cleaners, there are no poisons to breathe in. If caught short in a desert, it is safer to drink it for your survival, than the traditional radiator water!

How do I clean my leather seats?
Brush out large chunks of dirt with dedicated paint brush with brittles cut short. These are found in the creases and cushion folds. Ultra Fine mist technique works. Note very quick evaporative characteristic of magic. This way the leathers stay dry. Connoly, nappa, and specialty supple leathers need just a fine spray from a distance, and they really do exceptionally well with Magic. Optionally, you can now treat your seats with essential ‘oils. We have a special two pack procedure.

Can it help my cracked vinyl dash?
Too late. A previous owner or you have used a NON pH neutral cleaner on it. The good quality plasticisers have been stripped. From now on Magic Wash will clean without hastening its destruction.

What should not be used with magic wash?
None; absolutely recommended for Sat nav screens, control knobs, Perspex, carbon fibre, glass, all leathers, and vinyl. Cloth seats need the very lightest and finest spray droplets. You can clean your sunglasses or spectacles with it too. Remember, Magic has anti-static, anti-dust properties. top

What is the best chamois to use?
The best chamois costs over au $25. They are dimpled and have lots of tiny holes. It is really soft and ultra pliable, unlike cheap ones. Can be used outside and inside of cars. Also create great results on indoor furniture, car models etc. Keep rinsing and its ready for use again. The chamois can last for 10 years. top

Why do you recommend a chamois?
I designed Magic to work with a chamois. It sucks liquids up best, just because it has great absorbing properties. The softer the better. The more dimples & holes the better, and finally the more expensive ones are better. It is cheaper than microfibre cloths and re-usable. There is absolutely no need for microfibres, as those can sometimes leave smears. They are not absorbent enough. top

How does Magic work?
This is the effect of Magic - Working on surface tensions; it wets & envelops dirt into damp floating encapsulated blobs, placing them microscopically off the surfaces. The blob becomes fully lubricated. Now it needs to be sucked up. So, a chamois merely sucks it up, and a chamois is wholly soft and pliable to stay close to the surface. Toweling without artificial fibres is also great for larger molecules on wheels and heavier dirt along the bottom chassis line of cars. Chamois that are dedicated to be only used with magic, retains magic lubricants in it’s fibres. This way it always stays lubricated. top

What happens to little droplets I miss wiping off?
Forget them; they dry to nothing within a minute or two. It is extremely evident that the magic evaporates fairly rapidly, and time & time again there is absolutely no water marks left behind, even with slightly damp spots. top

Does it contain alcohol of some description?
None at all. It really does not leave any water ‘residue’ at all. Very evident on your glass windows. If there is residue, it’s because you have not rinsed and wrung dry your chamois enough. top

What does ‘spot cleaning technique’ mean?
All cars do not get dirty uniformly. Wipe off areas that require it most. Windows – after a few hand smudges are seen – every 9 days - about 2 minutes. Boot areas get most of the dirt generally, so wipe down those areas every 5 days. Alloy wheels need attention every 3 days of 30 secs per wheel. Windscreens, the next day after a night drive – 3 mins. After wet driving, the sides around the wheel arches require about 6 mins attention. This pick an area to clean for 2 mins’ format ensures an overall clean look everyday of the year. How do I do this easily? Always carry both the Spray bottle of Magic and the damp chamois in a lidded plastic container, in the car boot. Now you can grab any 3 minutes that might present it self. Like waiting for someone to turn up, during a tea break etc; you’ll work it out. Just remember to rinse the chamois the moment you get to a tap. Do not get carried away without rinsing often. top

What is the best way to clean off dead insects?
After spraying each of the 3 areas that get the most insects – windscreen, wing mirrors, front of bonnets, run the palm of ones hand over these areas in wiping strokes. This loosens dried on insects, and the solution starts to dissolve the goo. Keep wiping with your hands until it feels smooth. Wipe off and it is all gone. It really helps if the windscreen washer reservoir is filled with neat Magic Wash, and applied immediately after an evening drive – all insects in the way of the wiper sweep READILY disappear TOTALLY. However, Magic in the reservoir has to be Undiluted. I learnt of this extra capability of Magic from my clients! Pouring neat into washer reservoir. top

How large an area can I clean before I have to rinse the chamois?
As much as possible. For a dusty car, about 1 sq metre. For very dirty car, about 0.5 sq metre. For mud streaks, about 0.3 sq metre. You will get to know. Damp chamois has to be well wrung, as magic must not be diluted. top

What are the ugly round marks on my car?
They are water marks, and or acid rain marks. They are etched into the glass and top coats what do I do with acid rain? Let the car dry, use magic within an hour to 2 days of rain. You will never ever suffer ‘acid’ water marks anymore, if you use Magic regularly. Marks caused by water or rain that’s been left longer than a few days, especially after being in the sun too, requires you to clean as usual, AND then go over with repeated rubs of the chamois and Magic. Some may need a little wax to remove. top

What about old acid and water marks?
You need a water marks remover to ‘polish’ them out. Magic Wash will not remove these, but you will never ever suffer further water marks from the day Magic alone is used to wash your car/s. ( We have now made available our totally dedicated water marks remover & our Perspex Lens Polisher for Classic, Vintage cars. We have thoroughly field tested them over 4 months with cars, shower screens, etc, so we are very confident in our 2 newest products). top

Why do I start to see smears on my glass after a few wipes?
Your chamois needs rinsing. Rinse and wipe again, There will be no smears left.

Can i wax my car immediately after using Magic Wash?
Yes, the surface is supremely clean for waxing. You can choose small areas at a time. You will find it easier to apply and a better shine to your carnauba wax. These are priced from $50 to $650 a can. Choose the best you can afford. Wax allows the paints to breathe, unlike petroleum sealants, polishes, silicones etc. top

Can I tip the rinsing water onto my flower bed?
Yes, it is instantly biodegradable. There are no petroleum products. The plants will continue to live. top

Should I wash my chamois with a detergent?
Don’t, a certain amount of ‘magic’ in the chamois is ideal. Rinsing well is all that is needed, overnight soaking it in a little Magic Wash is better top

Where can I store the main bottle of wash?
Somewhere shady and cool. Keep the cap shut tightly.

Is it safe if my dog chewed through the bottle?
It is child and pet safe. So my children can change over to this system safely? Yes, show them first, and you may also reduce their ‘wages’ as it will take 85 % less time. top

Can I clean in the sun?
Amazingly, Yes. Performed many times. You may also clean in your garage, as the floor will be totally dry. It is best to clean in the shade though. top

Can it remove tar?
Only small and recent splatters.

It seems to leave a shine, is it improving my paintwork?
No, deteriorated paint has to be dealt with appropriately. top

Is this wash good for Classic Cars?-UK
This is a ‘god send’ to Classic Car, Classic Bike, and Antiquities Care. Classic cars, etc should never allow further advances of body, brakes, and electrical erosion. In addition, scratches on paint, plastic, Perspex, wood veneers are to be avoided, and also prevent leather and vinyl deterioration. PH Neutral care products are the ultimate. Not wetting cars or bikes whilst getting washed is a simply amazing benefit. top

I live in a cold climate, can warm water be used?
Yes, it will not make any difference to magic, but helps keep your hands warm whilst rinsing your chamois in the bucket but water is cheap unfortunately for all of us, those in higher places ALSO think it is cheap, too cheap, and they, the world over, have plans to increase rates to teach us to stop wasting it. There is urgent pressure to increase the cost of water. Sadly, most of us only change when forced to. top

What are the long term effects?
In 5 years of use, we have found that the car wax applications lasts a lot longer, due to its all important PH Neutrality. Leathers and vinyl treatments stay intact. Just drier, less ‘cancerous’ cars, all round. Unlike many car washing ‘lubricants’ Magic does not strip wax. This is why many “car washes” add liquid wax. These minute amounts do not last more than a few days. Liquid wax does not stick. “Of course, in the long term you save all that water and labour amounting to quite a substantial, ‘notional’, if not hard cash, return on a very small investment. top

We are performance car owners, some of us run racing cars, what does it do to our brakes — USA
You chaps will know this “A fast & safe car is one that can stop fast” Magic WILL NOT remove the microns of brake pad molecules you religiously build up on your brake discs, and WILL NOT degrade any brake fluids. Most chaps are unaware that all brake fluids are hydroscopic, and that wet washing incrementally degrades their cars’ braking abilities month by unnoticed month. Even temporary rust on discs, caused by wet washing, scours off your microns of brake layers you so carefully build up. top

What about our electrics and body panels?
Although some ECU’s are well tucked away, most are equally exposed as the electric cablings and optic fibres. Incremental damage due to the penetrating wet washing is the main reason for “the old faithful” to suddenly and overnight, turn into a nightmare car. These cars cannot even be given away. Cut open electric cables of a one year old car and already clearly see patches of electrical corrosion. Go to a local panel repair shop, the world over, and see exposed rust spots on one year old cars! Wet washing hastens this. Magic will NEVER be a contributor to this destruction. “Wet washers are ‘lovingly’ washing their cars to death” We were all unaware years ago, and had no choice, but now in 2005, we have a choice. It’s only a mindset. Our cars are manufactured so well yes I agree to a degree, but if we are talking about water ingress; even a quality car has from 500 to one thousand unsealed ‘holes’ and ’slots’. Can salt be washed this way?
No, if it is thick and encrusted, treat it the same way as mud. Hose off, let car dry, then use magic wash. We have boat owners using Magic, but they mainly use it on the insides, and just hose the salt off outside. The inside equipment, furniture, utensils, of boats is always salty, and magic removes it very very easily. That’s why boat owners are also repeat customers. top

I have a dealer treated protectant over my car, can I use magic wash?
Absolutely, it won’t affect the coating, but generally the coating deteriorates unevenly on its own. top

Most of your examples seem to be on the ‘high end’ types of vehicles - UK
It was developed for the extremely high end cars, & had also to be gentle. ALL car owners who really care for their cars or the time spent caring for their cars can use it. It is very affordably priced, so we can ALL benefit, not just the ‘high enders”. Some users even say that it is too cheap. That proves the high satisfaction level of it. We would also like our Magic to reach “poor” countries. We are not a huge corporation, although these may want to buy us out. If they did, it would be that they can continue making petroleum by products profitable, that otherwise is discarded. (After refining the main bulk for our petrol.) top

What is it like on black cars?
My 2 Mercedes’ which had, and has Magic used in the long term, are ‘Mercedes black’ and many users I know have black cars. We actually prefer to demonstrate on black cars. The results are immediately striking. Black cars generally need more waxing to prevent swirls. With Magic, it is really easy to spot wax. My cars don’t have swirls, scratches, rust, etc. after five years of Magic. Because Magic is so gentle, I only need to carnauba wax about six monthly, reduced from 2 monthly. In fact those who regularly see my cars, think the cars look new or newly waxed. top

What about non-metallic cars?
Exactly as above, but with even more regular waxing. Always use the traditional way of waxing.

I read on your site that Magic can be used on antiques - UK
Yes, now think about it. Antique surfaces are far more delicate and softer than car paint-work. That’s how good this ’spray & wipe is. You would also know by now, that I used to make different grades of French polishing and differing grades of wax mixtures in the past. These were used on century old antiques of savvy collectors and antique shops. top

My garage is full of car washing stuff I do not want to waste, can I use Magic together with them, separately I mean?
Yes, there is no conflict, when used separately. Many things are a compromise. Ours just happens to be ‘green’. It’s your call. top

Why do you use the term ‘waterless’ - Australia
You caught us out. It is not waterless, as it has water, but we had to call it that. The public sees it as that. When a new product/invention is introduced, there is always a natural cynism. We accept that, but attacks also come. To negate most of it, we went along with ‘waterless’ as it fell into that category of its application, where there are existing users. We hope that with more users of Magic, they will realize that it does contain “water” and is very different to the others. Ours is a hydro-cellular wash, suitable for many applications and environments. top

Why did you not make a ‘waterless’ product like the rest
A few of the other ‘petro’ products are the same, being sold under different names. Small Differences between them are their levels of either Ptfe, silicones, Teflon, Polymers, Kerosene, carbons, acrylics, resins, alcohol and other silica’s are used, but also in differing proportions. These products are great for other uses; but not for car paint coats and not as a spray into the air we breathe, or wash off in the rain into our drains. For the long term they are not desirable, and whilst ’sealed’ until it falls off, the paints cannot breathe naturally. Car paints are designed to be flexible with panel movements, and need to be pliable and to be able to breathe. It is also impossible to make a Ph Neutral ‘spray & wash’ with petroleum substances. Such a product cannot be used completely safely (especially when atomized & can be breathed in), and for the whole car – insides and out. Most of the above items have government sheets that advices the use of breathing masks and gloves in their use in confined spaces! It is also unreasonable to make a cleaner that also polishes, especially for regular use, and for the long term. Cleaning and polishing are opposing and contradictory molecular & physical actions. Such products are gigantic compromises. Even common sense tells you that we clean or we polish, never the two actions together. Repeat, we only clean or we only polish for leathers & vinyls, we clean with ph neutral products, and we apply ph neutral treatments. The leathers live, and can breathe, and stay pliable for car paints we clean and then apply carnauba wax. The paint continues to breathe to be pliable, otherwise it cracks. top

What are your main aims with this product - Australia
We will strive for this product to reach as wide in the world as possible. Our opinion is that the world deserves and needs this invention. Mainly for its many ’soft’, ‘gentle’ and green attributes. It will, in the grand scheme of the world, only be an offer to ALL to have a chance to try it. They will love it, or continue in the ways they are happy with.
