WHY ARE WE WATER WISE & ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS

We are Water Wise because we use 4 - 6 litres of water to clean or detail a vehicle or even less for a motorbike. Cleaning automobiles with minimal water usage has its advantages and disadvantages.

Some of the advantages include:

  • water doesn't penetrate into the wiring, hydraulic fluids and/or exposed areas of the body work which prevents rust and the most hated issue is driving away and then water spills out and stains the exterior (after you have just spent hours cleaning it).
  • less time is required to clean your vehicle
  • if done correctly no damage i.e. no scratching or swirl marks are created unlike normal cleaning methods
  • and of course you save lots of water, compared to getting your car cleaned at a car wash which uses between 30 and 200 litres of fresh water per car.

Some of the disadvantages include:

  • cleaning under the body of a vehicle is a more timely exercise compared to using a high pressure hose.
  • really dirty vehicles that are driven in scrub land or the outback sometimes cannot be cleaned without water. However in some circumstances these vehicles can be cleaned without water but more time is required compared to using a high pressure hose.
  • a better result can be achieved when cleaning an engine bay with a steam cleaner.

However in general from our experience we find the majority of city vehicles can be cleaned more efficiently and effectively without the use of water, which accounts for 90% of Australia's population.

We are environmentally conscious because we limit the use of chemicals in our work, this benefits our employees, our customers and the environment.
